Opening an account for company at BOC Hong Kong

Opening an account Bank of China Limited BOC is the largest group of banks in Hong Kong in respect of the assets and customer deposits. It is one of three banknote issuing banks in Hong Kong.

The BOC Hong Kong Branch was founded on 1 October 2001 through combining 10 of 12 banks in the city, originally owned by Bank of China Group.

Documents required

  • Founding documents of the company
  • Business plan, containing the details, including the activities of the company and counterparts such as company name, address, phone, website, email, and activity type
  • Estimated turnover per year and the number of transactions per month

For the director, shareholder or account administrator, the following documents are required:

  • A notarized copy of passport or another ID document
  • Notarized bank statement or a certificate of payment of utility bills for proof of residential address , which should be dated no later than two months of the application submission time
  • Contracts and invoices to confirm the experience of  account manager, dated 3 to 6 months from the time of application
  • Personal contact details of the account manager: phone number, email address
